Another stop on our spur of the moment dim sum tour, I'm so glad that we stopped here! I have been craving steamed rice rolls for weeks (can't find them in my hometown) and was so happy to find great ones here! They were perfectly chewy and full of shrimp. We asked for some shumai and turnip cake as well and both were good. The chive dumpling was the standout tho! So delicious we were craving them again by the next day.
One of the best places for takeaway dim sum in SF! Everything here is good, but the standouts are the chive dumplings (these are dense and packed with filling), and the rice rolls which were so soft and springy. The service is also much friendlier than Good Mong Kok, and there's almost never a line. If you are visiting SF, consider coming here instead. They also accept card
service: 10/10! we called in beforehand for our order, but they served it to us hot right when we got there. They had our order written down, so they did it super fast ambiance: not really a sit down restaurant. This place is mainly about grabbing the dim sum and having the food as take out. food: 10/10! I think this is my favorite take-out dim sum restaurant in SF now. The quality of the food is great, and they have almost every dim sum dish you can think of. It's right in the middle of Chinatown SF, and the price of each dim sum item is amazing. The price is really affordable!! My favorite dishes from here are the pork shumai and the chicken feet :)
Located on Jackson Street, slightly off the beaten path for most tourists through classic San Francisco Chinatown is this little unassuming dim sum place called Delicious Dim Sum located on Jackson Street, about a block uphill from Grant St. Step up into this little take-out joint, scan the menu and look over the hot trays of freshly made savory offerings laid before you behind the glass counter. Order up from the nice ladies behind the counter. Most everything is great here, especially the little spherical fried dumplings filled with shrimp and chives! They were delicious! We also ordered a few other items and they were also very good! I don't think you can go wrong here.. :)
I've tried quite a few dim sum spots since moving here to the city but find myself coming here again and again. In terms of price, taste, and value I can't think of a better spot to recommend for your dim sum fix. My typical order consists of pork shu mai, har gao, and pork and shrimp dumplings, in addition to assorted offerings on the menu. The dumplings are very generously stuffed, hot, and flavorful. Seriously, the size of these things cannot be understated. And for $3.50 an order that's an unbeatable deal. One gripe I do have is with the beef shu mai - not a huge fan of the aftertaste. But I'll simply take the pork ones any day.
